
ONBOARDING
Phase 2 Estimating & Sales

During Phase 2, you will continue building on what you learned in Phase 1 by applying your knowledge to real estimating and project setup tasks. You will perform a sample takeoff in Bluebeam using FenceCloud with support from your onboarding partner and begin developing estimates and proposals more independently.
• You’ll also review key Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to estimating, bonds, proposal preparation, and project handoff.
• Focus on understanding how estimates transition into awarded projects and what documentation and communication are needed at each step.
• Throughout this phase, shadow your manager and onboarding partner to see how jobs move from bid to project management, and participate in internal bid reviews or sales pursuit meetings to see how decisions are made.
• By the end of Phase 2, you should be comfortable completing small estimates on your own, compiling the required documentation, and understanding the process of handing off awarded jobs to the project team.
• You’ll review your progress and questions during your Midpoint Check-In with your manager and onboarding partner.
